Please see the render below. The pin spots can be seen behind the sculpture which should obscure the corona and emitter. Does anyone have an idea of what might cause this? I could upload the skp file, but maybe some of you have seen this before.
Thank you,
Bryan

Re: Light passing through opague object
this is probably related, please see this image of a "hotspot", I can move around the model and the light stays in the same place. Attached are three renders which show the spot, again as I move around the model it stays fixed in location, even though it seems to relate to the surface in that area.
I would LOVE to understand this and fix it. I've studied the salon, the zen room, a few others, I seem to have a basic understanding but I must be missing something.

Re: Light passing through opague object
I may have found my solution after some experiments.
I copied the light from the model, and created a simple test chamber, and everything worked. The sculpture blocked the light and corona as I wanted and as it should. Then I noticed my sculpture was grouped inside of a rafter group (both with materials not default BTW). I removed the sculpture from the rafter group and now it blocks the light!
Thanks, Bryan! I hope this information may be useful to any of you who may need it.

Hey Bryan,
I tried your method and it's not working for me. The opaque objects do not block the light.
Any help?
