Multi Language Support in LightUp

You can have LightUp in another language even if you choose to use the English locale version of SketchUp.

LightUp gets its translation files from:

{SketchUp Folder}/Resources/{Your_Locale}/lightup.strings

Where {Your_Locale} is the international letters for a language. For example on PC:

C:\Program Files(x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\SketchUp\Resources\fr\lightup.strings for FRENCH translation
C:\Program Files(x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\SketchUp\Resources\de\lightup.strings for GERMAN translation


If you're using the English locale of SketchUp, LightUp will be looking in:

C:\Program Files(x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 7\SketchUp\Resources\en-US\lightup.strings

so you can copy over any lightup.strings language file you like from "Resources\" and LightUp will pick it up on restarting.

[Of course only LightUp menus and dialogs will be translated.]

Hi Mario,
you can change some of the words by adding your own (original and ) translations into the script file.
I've added some of the words I didn't find in the original file.
The button can changed, single strip also...just front, right, up.. will not work.
For example you can open the German string file to see my addings.

The getting started I haven't found.

NB For Macintosh, LightUp installs these support files to:

So if you're using English SketchUp 7, and want German translations, you'll need to copy:

/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 8/Sketchup/Resources/de/lightup.strings

to

/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 7/Sketchup/Resources/en-US/lightup.strings
